Financial entities still part of NIS2 'ecosystem'


To enable cross-sector learning and to effectively draw on experiences of other sectors in dealing with cyber threatsmeans ‘cyber threat’ as defined in Article 2, point (8), of Regulation (EU) 2019/881;, the financial entitiesas defined in Article 2, points (a) to (t) referred to in Directive (EU) 2022/2555 should remain part of the ‘ecosystem’ of that Directive (for example, Cooperation Groupmeans a group as defined in Article 2, point (11), of Directive 2013/34/EU; and computer security incident response teams (CSIRTscomputer security incident response teams)).The ESAsEuropean Supervisory Authority and national competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46 should be able to participate in the strategic policy discussions and the technical workings of the Cooperation Groupmeans a group as defined in Article 2, point (11), of Directive 2013/34/EU; under that Directive, and to exchange information and further cooperate with the single points of contact designated or established in accordance with that Directive. The competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46 under this Regulation should also consult and cooperate with the CSIRTscomputer security incident response teams. The competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46 should also be able to request technical advice from the competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46 designated or established in accordance with Directive (EU) 2022/2555 and establish cooperation arrangements that aim to ensure effective and fast-response coordination mechanisms.
